The Canarian Foundation WALK FOR LIFE has filled the Camino de Santiago with pink and awareness
In this first edition, the Foundation had a group of 30 participants, including those affected by breast cancer and their companions or allies.
Under the motto “The path is the goal”, value has been placed on the path itself, in the fact of living together, sharing time and experiences, and establishing links between people with cancer and also between their families and companions. During the six stages and more than 120 kilometers, the group raised awareness among the pilgrims about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, making the survival of the disease visible and demanding an increase in financial allocations dedicated to research. Many pilgrims came to cheer on the pink march, became interested in the projects developed by the Foundation, and to share their personal and family experiences with breast cancer.
This first Camino de Santiago por la Vida has had the financial support of the Adeje City Council and the collaboration of the Diario de Avisos Foundation, and aims to consolidate itself over time and open its participation to people who are interested in future calls.
